Full Schedule Revealed for T20 World Cup 2026
The full schedule for the upcoming ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 was officially released on November 25, 2025. The tournament, jointly hosted by India and Sri Lanka, is set to run from February 7 to March 8, 2026. In the group draw, India and Pakistan once again find themselves in the same bracket — raising excitement around their menacing rivalry.
India are placed in Group A, alongside the United States, Namibia, the Netherlands and Pakistan.Their eagerly anticipated clash with Pakistan is scheduled for February 15, 2026, at Colombo’s R. Premadasa Stadium.
Suryakumar Yadav’s Cheeky Take on the India–Pakistan Tie
Suryakumar Yadav, the captain of Indian national cricket team, responded with a lighthearted remark when asked about the rematch versus Pakistan. “We played them recently during the Asia Cup … Everything was completely focused on cricket, nothing else as you must have seen,” he said with a smile.
Yadav added, “I’m sure it will be a good game. Boys are always excited to play Pakistan.” His comments reference tension-filled encounters during the Asia Cup 2025, where diplomatic friction overshadowed routine cricketing traditions — including the customary handshake and trophy presentation.
Looking Beyond Pakistan — The Bigger Picture
Interestingly, when asked about a preferred opponent in a potential T20 World Cup 2026 final, Yadav didn’t pick Pakistan. Instead, he mentioned Australia, pointing to their dramatic 2023 ODI World Cup final defeat at home in Ahmedabad as motivation.
For Yadav and Team India, the message is clear: while the cricketing rivalry with Pakistan always brings drama, their ambitions lie beyond. The 2026 T20 World Cup could offer a chance not only to settle scores, but also to challenge Australia — and reclaim T20 glory.
